//What are your clients saying about you?

We are a society that thrives on technology and sharing information with one another.  However that may not always be positive… Your business is under the spotlight all of the time and there are many people out there trying to destroy your reputation.  With the speed of information traveling over the internet your name can be destroyed over time by negative reviews.  With that being said no one is perfect and a negative review every now and then is ok, however to offset those reviews you want to make sure your always obtaining positive feedback from your happy and satisfied clients.  Websites such as Angies List and Yelp can be extremely beneficial for your new business but also can hurt potential business.  Here are some ways to build your reputation online:

  • Ask for feedback on every project, negative or positive, to gauge how your clients are feeling about the investment they just made.  Not only will this help you build your positive reviews and testimonials it will also give you a gauge as to how you staff is performing from the initial call to project completion.
  • Provide a discount or small gift such as a $ 25 gift card to a store if your clients go onto a review site and provide a review for your company.  The $ 25 investment will payoff tremendously when the next potential client goes onto Angies List and sees how well you treated your last client that they want to give you a shot at there business.  It is easy to not sign onto a site like that so a little incentive will likely get you a response.
  •  Flood your website and review sites with positive testimonials from happy clients.  Every project should wrap up with a thank you card and a request for a testimonials.  The more the better.
  • Everyone will get a negative review every now and then, that’s ok.  Make sure to manage and respond to all negative reviews in a timely manor apologizing for the disappointing experience the customer had and advise that its not common.  This engagement shows you care about every customer and that your listening.
